Standard Abrasives Buff & Blend™ products have a unique non-woven, open-weave nylon base treated with abrasive grain throughout, so they cut into labor time and not into parts. Buff & Blend can be used with lubricants and solvents. They are safer than a wire wheel or brushes and produce a better finish. Buff & Blend™ Wheels, for 1/4" die grinders, are ideal for corrosion removal in bores larger than can be cleaned with a Cross Buff®, such as piston bores in brake calipers. Buff & Blend™ Discs, for bench grinders, are for fine finishing and cleaning of light scratches on aluminum. They can quickly remove carbon from pistons and valve stems or deburr and clean head bolts, studs and other fasteners. One disc is flexible when run alone but they can, also, be stiffened by stacking for different finishes and removal rates. Buff & Blend wheels are available in 2" and 3" sizes and in Very Fine and Medium grades. They are especially useful for cleaning out bores and cylinders which are larger than the size of a Cross Buff
Buff & Blend Discs make short work of cleaning bolts which are to be reused. They are far better for this than a wire wheel because they do not leave behind tiny fragments of wire which can later jam between the threads of the bolt and the hole, damaging both.
